All the Educators at Newtown Kids COttage (NKC) come with a sense of fun, great enthusiasm, and a caring and nurturing attitude towards the children.
The day-to-day running and management of NKC is carried out by our Director, Carlie Henderson. Carlie is supported in the centre on a daily basis by the Coordinator and Educational Leader, Christine Anastasiadis, Assistant Coordinator Chrissie Psylliakos and Vacation Care Coordinator, Cleo Myerscough.
This service complies with the Working with Children Check as required by the NSW Education and Care Services Regulations abd all Educators and volunteers undergo screening checks. We encourage Educator to undertake ongoing progessional development, and they complete a variety of relevant training courses each year to keep up-to-date with safety, programming and activities for childen.
Volunteer Management Board
NKC is a family run service and Educators are employed to operate the service.
The centre is an incorporated association led by a volunteer parent-based management board that is responsible for the financial affairs, staffing, and general operation of the centre.
All parents and carers are encouraged to attend management board meetings, and to get involved in the management of the centre. The management board is elected annually and regular meetings are held in accordance with the articles of registration.
The board holds general meetings once per term and holds an annual general meeting to elect the office bearers and receive the annual reports.
Without the support of families, the service would not be able to operate.
