Financial contributions and assistance

There are some costs associated with going to school that you may find it helpful to plan and budget for.

These include:

  • uniforms

  • school books and equipment

  • excursions

  • co-curricular activities.

Voluntary school contributions

Like all NSW public schools, we can request contributions to enhance our educational and sporting programs including elective subjects. School contributions help provide additional educational resources for the benefit of students. Payment is voluntary.

For more information, visit the Voluntary School Contribution policy.

The Department of Education sets the amount of money public schools can ask families for each child per year. For 2024, the voluntary contribution has been determined at $50 per child.

Each year, families receive this advice on their Term 1 Invoice.

Support our school

There are many ways you can make a financial contribution to help support our school.

In 2024, we are hoping to raise funds to bring our school to 2024 building standards. If we raise enough money, we would like to fund air conditioning for eight learning spaces, a new covered outdoor learning area, adventure playground equipment, upgrade the baskerball courts and much more!

By donating to this fund, you will automatically receive a Tax Deductible receipt. All monies received must be used towards the structural and maintenance of the school building.

To make a Tax Deductible donation, go to School Bytes APP and click on the PAYMENTS button, add the amount you are comfortable to donate, then click the PAY NOW button.

A partnership at Newtown Public School will benefit our community and your business.

Make an appointment to talk about your involvement with Helen Campbell, Principal.

Financial assistance

If you are unable to pay school contributions because of financial hardship, you may be eligible for assistance from the school.

Our principal will ensure no student or family suffers any discrimination or embarrassment over the inability to pay school contributions.
