School Transitions Program
Newtown Public School has implemented a comprehensive and responsive transition program that supports students and their families throughout their schooling journey from Kindergarten to Year 6. This program is designed to assist students as they transition:
- From preschool into Kindergarten,
- From Infants School (ASIS) into Year 3,
- From Year 6 into High School
In addition to these key transition points, the school runs a Whole School Moving Up program during Term 4 each year. This initiative enables students to experience their new classroom, teacher and peer group ahead of time. It also provides a supportive space for students to ask questions and engage positively with the changes they will experience. This approach helps create a smooth and reassuring transition for students, fostering confidence and readiness as they move to the next stage of their education.
